Life changes...

It's been awhile since I posted and life has changed as I knew it. In September my Father-in-Law passed away from Cancer and that has been difficult, but we are working through it. My husband and his brothers have begun the process of taking care of Dad's estate and this can be hard at times. Here is one of my favorite pictures of him. This was taken two years ago.

Nice Fish Dad!

Life goes on...We miss you Dad!...we all had a quite Christmas. Our son has started his winter quarter at the Community College today and I start a new job as an educator of a nutrition program. It is part time which is what I have been wanting and I make my own hours. You can't beat that! I have been knitting through it all and here are a few of the projects I have been working on.

This blanket that Roseanne cat is loving I started in September and finished it the day after Christmas. I am mailing it out today to my niece. She picked out the color. Red Heart...Pretty n' Pink. The pattern is a simple one...I knitted from corner to corner. Lion Brand has a pattern called "Easy Baby Blanket" I modified that pattern by making it bigger than they did. So Easy and it takes no concentration to do it but very relaxing. Which I needed at the time.

My cashmere mittens. Oh so yummie. I used Cascade Cash Vero colorway 008 and your basic mitten pattern.

My second pair of socks! The yarn is Blue Moon...Socks that Rock colorway Scaponia. I bought this yarn last year on my birthday just after Christmas time in 2006. I started these wonderful socks this summer and finished them September 2007. It takes me a while but it was worth the wait. I took two pictures one of each side of the socks so you can see the pretty pooling this yarn does.

After I finished the Pretty n' Pink blanket for my niece I needed some wool to knit and a quick project for some instant, or almost instant gratification. I started this scarf on December 26th and finished it New Years Day. Ooh so yummie It is Mountain Colors Hand Painted Yarns...Twizzle... colorway is Wild Raspberry. The pattern was very easy. It is called Mistake Ribb. From one of Sally Melvil books either the Knit or Purl book. Not sure which I will look it up later and update this post for you.

Well, that is all I have for now.

Happy New Year and May Blessings be Great in 2008!

Yea, you read that right, day 54. It's so crazy to realize it's been that long that we've been isolated. We are retired so even...
